I live in a post-war high-rise in NYC. When I re-did my bathroom, my contractor sealed up the vent. Does this increase the risk of mold? Any other dangers by having a sealed vent in a bathroom lacking a window?

If you don't have a window, you need to get the vent working. Showers add a lot of warm moisture to a bathroom and it's gonna cause problems eventually - mold/mildew among other things.

I have windows and exhaust fans in both bathrooms and use them year round (never gets THAT cold here). I also like to let the fan run for a few minutes after I get out of the shower to get the moisture completely out.

I definitely don't have mold/mildew problems. :D
