Hi. I framed my basement with steel studs and I am ready to insulate and put up the vapour barrier. A really dumb question...how do I attach the vapour barrier to steel studs?

Tape, the screws in the sheet rock will do the rest.

Like resercon said. Duct tape it to the top plate is all Ed;)
