I have a maytag LA712 wash machine that overfills. I changed the water valve and the water level pressure switch. But neither switch fixed the unit. I suspect the main switch. Does anybody have any ideas on what do next?

Hi John,
On the back of the water level pressure switch there should be a 1/4" plastic tube, remove the tube from the pressure switch and blow into it there could be lint stuck in the air dome ( the other end of the tube) try that.

by doing the above you would be checking the hose for a restriction.

another thing can be is to remove the hose at the air dome and while filling with water blow into the hose(tube) and the water should shut off. remember water will come out of the air dome so you will have to block off that part .
by doing the above you would be checking the pressure switch. if it shuts off switch is good.
