My bathroom wall recently was painted with an oil-based paint mixture by a decorative painter. Of course, after the shower, there are water streaks on the wall and droplets hanging from the soffet which I need to pat down. If I add a coat of polyurethane to the wall, will this reduce the chance of water-staining? Any downside to applying poly to the bathroom wall?
