Hi,
I have one for the books.....Neptune Stack, that runs aprox. 10 min then shuts off....if the stsrt button is puched at this point, it runs fine and completes the cycle.
I replaced the machine control board......no help......replaced the timer and it worked a few times, then back to the 10 to 12 min. then shuts off.
Any thoughts?
Thanks
Mike

Hello: Mike
Not exactly sure why the machine runs fine the second time. Seems likely to have a defective start switch but you mentioned changing that part out as well as the control board.
Thus the problem not likely to be a parts problem with the parts already changed out. May be an electrical problem with the motor itself and or a restricted venting system.
Suggest you elliminate those possibilities. Check electrical currents to those parts as well. Should be 110 with 220-240 only to the heating elements.
Read the post regarding Neptune machines already posted within this forum topic. The problem may be discussed prior and the solution noted. What did the part store personal say regarding a problem such as this may also shed some light on the cause.
Read the manufacturers online web site for problem possibilities, solving methods, repair procedures, downloadable repair manuals, etc which may be available online.
Search the manufacturers web site for a downloadable version of the owners or service manual. The file will be a pdf file opened with Adobe, which also needs to be downloaded first but worth having once obtained.
Check back on your question several more times. Other members posting replies in this forum topic may offer you additional advice, ideas, suggestions, test and or repair methods.

It's always adviseable to clean the entire exhaust venting system every 2 years. Or during any dryer maintenance, connection and or repairs.

sorry, I was weak on the description, it is a problem with the washer only, no problems with the dryer.
I just heard about another washer doing the same thing, and Maytag factory service had been out 4 times....no changes.
I hope someone has had this happen to them.
Thanks
Mike

Hello: Mike
No problem with the weak description. I also made the assumption the problem was with the dryer and not the washer. No harm and no foul.
Try reading the forum note on Neptune Washers at the top of the list of question in the forums list of question. Chances are the problem and solutions have already been posted. Hope so.
Never stops amazing me how it could take more than two services calls and not get the problem resolved. Should be done in one service call, if possible. Almost always possible.
Two rarely but four? And the problem remains? AMAZING!
