Okay, we painted our livingroom walls and used painters tape around the edges so we didn't hit adjoining walls or the ceiling, but we didn't know you had to peel the tape off before the paint dried, SO, now we have the ugly blue tape running along the ceiling and the adjoining walls. We have tried using a carpet knife to cut the tape off, but it the walls are bumpy and it's almost impossible to do it without it tearing and looking jagged. How do we take care of this problem without having to paint the ceiling and adjoining walls where it shows?

I'm not sure you can do it without tearing up the walls or ceiling. I would remove the tape with whatever means possible, and use a brush to touch-up the walls and ceiling that were effected by the removal.
Sometimes you can use a single-edge razor blade to slide it under the tape to pull up.
Hope that helps.
