Yesterday the ice cube bucket was filled with frozen water! The ice cube maker tray seems filled with frozen water too. It isn't pushing the water out or able to make cubes. The ice stinks too.

What is happening and how can I fix it?

I had the temp. set at 4 but put it down to 3...it didn't help.

It is a coldspot model # 106.7600520Thanks for your help!

Hello: luvnaz and Welcome to the Do-It-Yourself Web Site.

If there is soild ice in the ice maker bucket, water is getting intot the system and is getting frozen. Problem may lie in the processing system or partial heating system which keeps the cubes seperated, etc.

The motor may not be working to push the cubes out into the cube bucket. Verify the motor is working.

There are many other questions with plenty of replies containing helpful info on ice maker paroblems in the forum which may help.
For more detailed information read the recent postings within this forum. The questions already asked describe like or similarly related problem descriptions as your question.

Read the manufacturers online web site for problem possibilities, solving methods, disassembly, reassembly methods, repair procedures, pictorials, downloadable repair manuals, etc which may be available online.

Search the manufacturers web site for a downloadable version of the owners or service manual. The file will be a pdf file opened with Adobe, which also needs to be downloaded first but worth having once obtained.

Retail appliance parts dealers can also help determine what the possible problem may be. Bring the make, model and serial numbers. Appliance part stores and dealers are listed in the phone book.

When I took the cover off and then the modual plate off there were broken peices of plastic and ice inside. The gear shaft tube and part of that which surrounds it. So I guess a new icemaker or ice trays are in order!

I'm still not sure if that was the origional problem though. Today I scraped the ice from the tray and removed it. The arm went up and filled the tray with water, but then it didn't freeze or work. There was ice inside the motor area which I think may have broken the parts or when I got it to cycle it broke the plastic in there.

It is an old fridge anyway!

Thanks for the help though!
