I hope this question is in the right forum. If not, let me know.

I want to paint a glass lamp. Should I prime this first, before I spray paint it?
If so, can I use a spray primer? Reason I need to use spray, is I don't want brush marks.

I have tested a piece of glass with the paint I want to use, which is a gold metallic, and it looks good, and seems tough. I then want to decoupage it as well.

I want to make sure it stays that way, and would be willing to go the extra step and prime if I need to.

Yes, you can prime it with a spray primer. Let it dry and cure hard, and test it by scratching with a fingernail. If it holds, its good. Do two coats for good measure.
