About 10 years old, has always worked great.

Suddenly the remote control stopped working. Changed batteries, it works fine on the vcr/dvd player, think it has something to do with the t.v. itself.

Any chance that this is something I can fix myself, if so, how?

If you are having problems with just the remote and it is a universal remote (which it sounds like it is if you also use it on other devices) then you might try reprogramming it. If you don't have the instructions anymore for your remote and what code to program it with, you can go to your local retailer and buy a universal remote for $10.00 or less that will have instructions for programming it for your make of TV. If thate remote still doesn't work, then it is probably your TV. Also, make sure that you don't just have something covering the eye that receives the signal on your TV.

i have the same problem. the remote works on everything else but has stopped working on the tv. i think it is a problem with the tv. did you have any luck in resolving it?
