Hi There
Does anyone know of a natural oil or product to use for sealing wood that is safe for humans/animals? I will be using it on pine wood. I seem to remember people using something like olive oil to treat things like wooden salad bowls, but can't remember if this is right, and worry about rancid oil, staining or smelling later on.
Thanks for your help
Nikki

For food bowls, mineral oil is safe. Other oils for other applications. Your post indicates that you want an oil for food bowls.

If not, post back.

Thanks. I didn't think of mineral oil. Actually have found an oil called NaturOil by Terra Nova at our local hardware store that is FDA certified and approved for food contact. Blend of all natural oils that is safe for humans/pets.

Thanks for your help. Sometimes the old brain doesn't kick into gear before I ask a question. This oil is exactly what we needed.
