I need to install 2 deadbolts into steel doors not really sure how it is done, I have install locks in wooden doors using a 1/4 in drill. I would need steel hole cutter but not sure what else or how. I welcome any suggestions and or websites with pictures would also be helpful. Thanks again.

A bi-metal hole saw will take care of the holes in the steel. Otherwise everything is pretty much the same. Center punch the steel for the pilot bit.
If this is a residential steel door with a wood edge then you are in good shape as you can easily drill/mortise this for the bolt. If you have an all metal door, on the edge also, the latch could get ugly. Let us know what you have.

Both my doors are residential steel doors with wood edge and I believe the code for Ont. Canada is 1in. Secured with 3in screws. I was a little unsure of myself because I have never worked on steel doors before. Thank you Schiejr for info .

Glad to help. A good heavy bolt with the long screws is definitely the way to go. The steel is pretty thin-you should get through without too much trouble if you go slow.
The only other thing I can add is drill through the other side with the pilot bit only and then start the hole saw from that side to make a nice clean hole.
