Does it take a special 2x2 ceiling panel in a bathroom to stand up to the humidity or will any of them work? I heard you need one with a vinyl covering but these are really ugly. This will be a suspended ceiling. What other options besides drywall do I have for a ceiling in a bathroom, what else looks good?

There are special moisture resistant panels. I don't deal with it enough so I'm not sure of a store that carries them. Why don't you want drywall??

As long as you have good ventilation in the bathroom, you should be ok with the drop lid in the bath. If you don't have a vent fan in the bath though, you need to put one in before you go any further with your project. Good luck. ;)

A drop lid is a dropped ceiling (t-bars, removable panels, ...) like you are discussing (vs a drywall lid / ceiling).
