I am re-doing a shower that was previously tiled.
Cut away the tile and old sheetrock and removed to the bare studs and replaced with Durock. I know that I need to tape the seams in the durock with thinset and tape, but what about the joint where the drywall and cement board meet? Drywall compound or thin set?
The tile is going to go over on to the drywall, so the seem won't be seen.

Stay with the thinset until you have a spot not covered with tile.
