Has anyone tried to lay laminate snap and click together flooring on a 45 degree angle instead of parallel to one of the walls?

Did it work and how did you start off the rows?

Any suggestions from the pros out there? Do I want to try it or stick to the directions?

I am in the process of leveling my floor and plan to start laying the flooring in a couple of days. Any help or advise I can get would be greatly appreciated! :)

It can be done. It can look very nice. It will cost more for materials and you will need more patience. The waste factor could run up to 15% or 20% instead of the normal 5% to 7%. The start is not very difficult, the last few planks are a bear. It's best to not use any plank pieces that are less than 10" long if it can be avoided. Using sub assembly of several planks will make your live easier and a sub assembly will be required in the last corner. If you don't have an installation kit with hook bar, get one, you'll be glad you did.
