I need to insulate an interior wall in my basement. What type of insulation (ie: R level) should I use? The application is mainly for sound dampening as the wall I am insulating is the furnace room which is adjacent to a guest bedroom. The noise isn't too bad but light sleepers might be woken up when the sump pump, furnace, or water softner kicks on. Any suggestions? I want to keep the cost down. Asthetics are not important since it's a back room and I will be installing a large wine rack in front of the insulated wall anyway.
Thanks!
Thanks!
