Hello to all.....

I am an "additon" queen and I live in the "Money Pit" house. If something is to go wrong it's at my house. I try very hard to do it right and some how I come up short. Thats a whole long story..... to the point.

I have tile in my kitchen now.... I hate it.... it's textured and it's too hard to keep clean. Since my last addition remodeling the kitchen and adding a bath... I needed to add more tile... hence... color doesn't match all that well. Sucky tilers did not match up grout lines. No one would probably notice but me. Anyways my new cabinets are on top of the tile, some trim was put on top of time and some the tile butts up to and I also have radiant heat under.
So I figured that riping the tile out would be very time consuming and costly. If the plywood subfloor peels than a new subfloor would need to be applied. Increasing the chance of puncturing a hole in my radiant heat lines. The two rooms that abut the tile are hardwood. So..... my thoughts now would be to put a laminate snap floor on top of my tile. My reasoning....
1. No chance of radiant heat damage
2. Resale value I think tile is more, so someone could just remove laminate and have tile.
3. Won't have to take out cabinets and live in disarray for long periods of time.

Give to me straight..... whats your opinions???

Thanks

Hello....

Do I have any choices for the door jams besides undercutting?

If the flooring doesn't work out and I want to go back to my tile, I will have undercut door jams. Can't imagine that will be attractive.

Thanks
