I have "popcorn" ceilings throughout my house. Some areas, especially near the swamp cooler inlets, are pretty dirty.

1. How do I clean the dirt away?

2. How do I paint the ceilings without using a sprayer?

You can use a roller on a popcorn ceiling if you don't mind making a humongous mess and using gallons of paint. For my money(and I have popcorn ceilings), spraying is the only way to go.

That's what I thought...

That's also the main reason I'm getting a sprayer. But how does one go about cleaning accumulated dirt from the popcorn???

And how does one reply to a specific message in this forum - or does one?
