 I am trying to crackle finish my cabinets and am not having very good results. I feel that I have followed the directions correctly, but the results are unacceptable and I end up washing the whole thing off. The problem is when I apply the topcoat of paint I cannot get the paint on evenly. The crackle medium says I have 5 minutes to apply but do not go back over the paint after that. I get one pass of the brush and of course it doesn't completely cover, but when I try to get another brush load on the door it pulls the paint and medium up and it ends up being an enever blotchy patchy mess. Any hints on getting this applied evenly. Thanks

Try applying the paint with a short nap roller, you can put more on in less time with a roller.

My 2 cents.
