I want to add insulation to my attic. Presently is insulated to the top of the 2x6's but this not enough in central NYS. About 75% of the insulation is now covered with plywood for access and storage. Going to eliminate the storage. When adding the insulation, should I remove the plywood. I'd like to leave it if I could, for access. Is it neccessary/advisable to remove the plywood, or it doesn't really matter, or.....?

Your thoughts are appreciated. Thanks.

I think Id let it there . Dont use and insulation with paper back or a V/B on it up there. Also you want to run the new insulation if in rolls the other way across the ceiling joist. Owens Corning has a attic blanket out now a R-25 itch free.ED;)
