Alright, So I just moved into my new house and I have laminate hardwood wanna-be flooring. SO i grew up with hardwood all my life, and now I have this.

SO for some reason in whatever state of my mind i decide to put plants down on my floor. thinking it won't do anything it never does. But somehow when i went to re-locate the plants there is a big moisture circle from underneith the pot.

No problem, I can prevent that from happening again.. My problem is there is now a big white circle from where the pot was sitting, As if all the 'hard wood' color dissapeared from the flooring, I tryed using Orange Glow wood restorer and murphys floor cleaner and i just tryed drying it and letting it sit to see if it would come back. it's now been 2 weeks and i have a white polk-a-dot. on my laminte flooring.

HELP??!

well, laminate flooring shouldnt stain. so try ascetone, and apply it to the white rag not the floor.
it should come off somehow. I can't see laminate staining.

SO i should put acetone onto the floor with a white rag, turkish towl or whatever.

I have no idea, It's like moisture from the bottom of the pot.. I never did that until i got the laminate flooring. But its all my fault i was stupid enough to put a pot on the flooring.

Just there is a big white moisture spot, I treally does look like someone erased the wood grain or painted a big white polkadot ont he floor from the pot.

It makes no sense 2 weeks, The house is dry. still there I have 3 of them.

:(

Potted Plants will whiten any wood product. Try a little acetone or nail polish remover on a rag about the size and weight of a mans handkerchief to make it DAMP as florcraft has suggested and wipe the spot. If that doesn't work let us know and I'll post the secret watermark remover for wood and you can try that.

Fred-

Post that "secret" stuff as soon you can, please. My mother in law sat a hot tea cup on our oak table and left a milky spot on the finish. I've been looking for a way to get it out.

The melamine surface of a laminate floor is not the same as the surface of genuine hardwood. The nail polish remover should work ok on the laminate but not hardwood.

To remove a white water stain (spot) on hardwood furniture or flooring the following is often the best bet. Smear some mayo (the real thing, not salad dressing etc.) on the white stain, cover it with plastic wrap for 30 minutes. Remove the plastic wrap and lightly rub the mayo into the finish witha nylon scouring pad with the grain. Remove the mayo by wiping with a soft cloth, apply paste wax or coat of poly. More than one application may be needed.

After some serious thought, the mayo treatment, because of the oily charactor of mayo may not be a good idea.
