Thinset & tile prices vary by where you're at in the country, so that's something you're going to need to check with local suppliers.

If you're a first timer, I highly recommend reading one of two books on the subject,
Tile Setting by John Bridge or
Setting Tile by Micheal Byrne I've read both & would recommend them in that order.

thanks, but what I really need is a write-up on a project anyone did, that has the step-by-step guide to follow as well as pictures and prices. I can't seem to find anything on searches. thanks again.
