I am installing a new shower in my house, and building the shower pan from the slab up. In "setting tile" by m. byrne, he recommends using CPE as the waterproofing membrane in the pan and up the sides. Our home depot for some reason doesn't carry CPE; the tile dept. guy there recommended Custom's Redgard Waterproofing and Anti-fracture Membrane. he said that it will do the same thing as CPE, plus you can roll it on (a plus since we're building a bench and recessed shelves).
any thoughts or recommendations? i am leery of trying redgard because of negative feedback i've heard on custom's products, also because neither of the tile books i have indicate that roll-on membrane can be used in the pan.
thanks for your help! angela
