A friend is re-doing two walls directly around her tub and needs to know if she can put up tile board using an adhesive directly onto the existing plaster. (?) Or does she need to take out the plaster and lathe and install wonderboard and then the tile board? Unfortunately Home Depot has been of little help today in answering any of these questions other than suggesting to tile the entire bathroom. Time is of the essence as she wants to begin work on this and only has one, yes one, bathroom! Thanks for your help!!!!

As long as the plaster is in good shape and the adhesive will stick to it, there is no reason to remove it. It's an awfully messy job is she DOES remove it.
