Gardening and Horticulture - growing mustard greens

Last September I planted mustard greens in my small garden. They had a hard time getting started but once established they took off. Well, the winter came and I didn't tend to them much. They seemed to survive the short cold spell we had. Well we have had some medium weather lately and the mustard greens have started to come alive. My question is what do I need to do to insure that they get a good start this season? Since they are last season's plants will the green leaves be tasty and tender when harvested? Do I need to trim the older large leaves off to make room for the new growth? Any input would be greatly appreciated. I love my mustard greens.

Surprising how some things survive in mild winters. Greens are tough. Just trim off the tough, old leaves and side dress the plants. This should start you into a good season.
