I have a mix of green board and cement board above my new shower surround,m "on the walls". Can I just mesh the seams, float, than paint?
Should I use inside corners? or can I just tape the corners? Has anyone done this before?
I took the sofit out. I have 34 inches or so above the surround that I just want to paint,

If there's any gaps between the boards, you need to prefill with joint compound to smooth it out & then apply your mesh tape. You'll need at least 2, but probably 3 coats of mud over the seams to really finish it out nice. Also need to apply a coat of good primer prior to finish paint.
