I am re-doing my bathroom in a couple of weeks. My delema is that I have a window in the middle of my Tub/shower. I have been trying to keep the water off of it with no avail. I pondered the idea of bricking the window in but the "WIFE" wants to keep it. Something about wanting to open it in the summer, whatever.
Anyhow, is the a way to keep the window without it getting wet and getting mold on it? thanks

If your wife insists on it opening, that could be tough to satisfy. You could seal it water-tight, but not if it needs to open.
My thoughts involved a piece of tempered glass that would be installed over the existing window.
If I found myself desiring a window over a bath tub, I might install a basement "hopper" window as high as I could. Something 100% vinyl would be a good choice.
How about a glass block panel that has that dinky little vent in the middle?

I had the same problem with moisture and mold on bathroom window at my old home. You probably don't have a vent fan installed because window, by code, can replace the vent requirement.
What I did was to install the fan anyway.
I ran a vent line, cut out the ceiling, ran wires, installed a separate switch and installed the fan.
It immediately solved the problem.
Reply back if you want to go for this option.

We have the same problem here, except the window stool (the interior sill) is already rotten. We've decided to replace the stool with a corian template, to caulk and fill the living daylights out of it, and to use a water-resistant stain & mold killing primer around the existing window moldings (Zinsser is a great product). Not sure how it'll turn out, but the window is an old stained glass number that really can't be sacraficed. I'll let you know how it turns out.

I hade the same problem and used a plastic shower curtain cut to fit a little bit wider and taller than the window. I then mounted a rod above the window and hung it with shower curtain hoops. When ever we used the shower we just pulled the curtain to protect the window.
This solved the standing water in the window sill and a fan reduced most condensation. You can get the curtain in clear material if your wife wants the light during showers.
Not perfect but makes for an easy fix.

We did 2 bathrooms both with window above the tub. We used vinyl awning type, placing sill about 4'-6" above floor, tile around. We never have any water problem. We have vent, too. Opreable window lets light and air in. The room feels larger and less confined. We love it. We called window manufacture for waterproofing details and talked to tile installer about waterproofing.
