I am working for someone who wants a bunch of recessed medicine cabinets installed. In each location the cabinet will land directly on top of a stud.
What is the best way to deal with this?
The bathrooms are all finished so I'm hoping not to create too large of an opening in the wall.
How do I know if a wall is load bearing?
Thanks
Neil

Load bearing walls run perpendicular to the ceiling joists.
If the wall is a bearing wall, and the owner won't consider a different location, recommend a wall mounted unit. You would need to frame in a header to accomodate the medicine chest.
