Please read all questions pertaining to gas fired water heaters very carefully. The advice we offer & that which we do not offer or suggest in our replies may not provide a safe solution to the problem.
Water heaters using gas of any fuel type, operating incorrectly, will be producers of CO. CO is a killer.
Be aware of the key words often used in the problem descriptions. Some examples of incorrect combustion may be soot, odors, smothering flames and or constant burner and or pilot outages which may have no known or explainable causes for happening.
