I am looking to insulate my currently unfinished basement ceiling for noise control (we have a carpet remnant and exercise equipment in the basement and it is a good to place to play cards with the boys) and to help alleviate cold floors above. At some point we will be finishing the basement down the road. Would it be wise to put Corning Miramax R25 in the floor joists now, even though we won't be finishing it for several years? I don't want to put any faced insulation because of the fire issue without the ceiling being finished. All of the ducts and pipes are insulated. Or are there any alternative routes that I could take.
Thanks,
Dan

Id put in a T bar ceiling now. This will give you what you want now and you can go into it later to rework the basement;) ED

I had planned on drywalling the ceiling in the basement rather than drop ceiling

Over the years ill bet you will want to get in the ceiling. I know I have over the years. From move the lights ,TV wire ,new electric wire. With the T bar you can do this. It also works as insulation.;) ED
