I have two cultured marble basin/tops. I installed them approximately 20-25 years ago. Both have cracks in the area around the drain outlet. I read an article in a paper that this was caused by a slight material defect, and that the new ones available will not do this. The small unit is badly cracked, the larger one, a 48 inch unit I am planning to try sanding first.
I need to install a new cultured marble basin/top in small bath. The walls are 35 1/4 inches apart. The last time I used a 31 inch top with sidesplashes and made oak shelves to fit on top of the side splashes to the walls. This time I am considering buying a 37 inch top with side splashes and trim it to fit. Could someone offer the best way to trim this material. I have table saw, radial arm saw, skill saw, and router. Thank you!

nickman24,
Best way is to cut the cultured marble using a circular saw with a masonry blade. It's easier to hand and manuever than the table saw or radial arm.
Be sure to protect the finished side of the product before cutting. Flip the product over and cut from the unfinished side of the product. When you begin cutting be sure to take your time and let the saw do the work. Do not force the cut. As you get to the end, slow down and take your time so that you get a nice even break at the end. Rushing could cause the product to crack unevenly!
Lightly sand the edges and insert into the space required, caulk and you're done!
Hope this helps!
