I have a double kitchen sink with a garbage disposal on one side (the wrong side, but that's another problem).

The two sinks are connected separately to the "main" drain.

I remember reading somewhere a long time ago that drain cleaners/uncloggers harmed garbage disposals.

None of the products I've looked at have a warning on the container about garbage disposals.

Can I put a drain cleaner/unclogger in the garbage disposal side?

Drain openers are not recommended, products do not put warning about everything on there labels, such as, makers of chlorine tablets never mention the fact the product will cause a break down on the rubber washers in the toilet tanks.

If your disposal is clogged..............run a large amount of ice through it.......not drain cleaners.

The ice cleans the interior of disposal and run water through the unit while chopping ice.

Same way ice cleans your teeth after eating a meal.

I didn't know that, but I think I'll stay with floss! :)
