Designing Kitchens and Bathrooms - shower pan

Hello All,
Is ther a shower pan or liner that is made with out the drain hole already cut into it?

We have built our own new bath room and we were going to do a custom tile floor but since reading different threads on tile showers I think I might go with a premade pan, Would need one 8' x 4' with the drain hole not in the normal location.

There are companies out there that make custom pans, but they are not cheap. I recently redid my bathroom, and built a tiled shower - I faced the same worries as you seem to be in deciding between a premade pan and a liner in mortar. I built the liner in mortar and it has been a great success. Lots of good info from a guy named John Bridge -- on his website. I would really recommend looking into building your own, it is fun and fairly easy (especially if you like to play with mud)- you just have to follow the steps.... Good luck with what ever you decide.

You might find it easier to move the drain pipe, since plastic pipe plumbing is pretty easy. Then you can buy a standard molded shower floor.
