We are installing two Corian Sinks in our bathroom. On the one sink we ordered a side splash an inch to long as it butts up to a side of a cupboard which isn't as deep as the sink.
I know you can drill and sand corian but could I also cut off an inch with a miter saw and then sand then end to make it smooth?
Or is there a different way to do this?
Thanks.

I would recommend that you use a special router bit made for cutting the corian. A chance of damaging it, makes it well worth buying the right tools.

Corian can be worked with standard wood working tools using carbide blades or bits. It took me at least five minutes to work up the nerve to run a piece of Corian thru my table saw a few years ago. I was totally amazed at how easily it cut.
Don't even think of trying to cut it with steel blades or bits.

Thanks for the information. I put in a new carbide tip blade in miter saw and sawed it last night. It work perfect. Nice and smooth.
