i wondered if i can coat plaster walls witha thin coat of drywall mud, this would be to even up the surface. Will this stick or start to flake off after time? It is in a bathroom, witha vent fan.

hopefully this area you are refering to isnt very large. i would scuff the area w/some coarse snadpaper60 or 80 gritt.not knowing dompness conditions or what the top finish willbe. i recommend the use of a patching&spackling compound that most paint manufactures supily.sherwin williams has a non shrinking formula that is easy to work with in applying, to smooth the surface out dampen your putty knife when finishing your application. and the use of aad 6" or larger putty knife is recommended. good luck!
