I have brick a brick wall with a fireplace in the wall. I want to know if it's possible to put marble tiles on the brick wall surrounding the fireplace? This is for aesthetic reasons only to dress up the look of the room. It would be 1/2" x 12" marble tiles. If it is possible what kind of mortar or thinset would be used over the brick to hold the marble tiles?

i see no reason why a latex modified thin set wouldnt work.
