Home Automation - integrated network, security system

I'm considering using these two items in my new house and was wondering if anyone had experience with them or better alternatives..

I have 16 windows, 2 standard doors and 1 sliding glass door.

This would let me neatly control which room gets what.

I chose this one because it's wireless and can handle 16 sensors, which is just short of what I'd really need, but can be worked around with motion sensors. Though I'd really prefer one that had a dial out function, co2/fire sensors and could possibly interface with a computer for logging and/or control.

I strongly suggest looking into the GE Security and GE Smart (Structured Wiring) systems. They will run a little more money, but are much more reliable than anything you will find at Lowes.

GE/ITI makes the Simon 3 security system which supports 24 zones - similar to the KeepSafer system - it's completely wireless and does have the dial-out function you were talking about.

GE also has a full line of Structured Wiring panels, the GE Smart ConnectionCenter. One of them being the Value Series, which runs about $100.

I think you would greatly benefit from the little added expense of using professional equipment.
