Hi:COLD LADY
Gravity furnaces, when working up at there peak performance, work rather well.
What isn't known here is, if this is a new problem or one that you noticed for years?
If it's a new problem, have the furnace serviced. You'll be much further ahead, energy wise, in the long run.
If this has been a constant problem, there are many other possibilities which may not be directly related to the furnace.
Climate zone, current outside temperatures, insulation, windows, ducting and other energy saving improvements to name a few.
Best suggestion is to have the local gas utility company check out the furnace for proper operation.
Good Luck,
