My Gibson stove is 4 years old and have replaced circuits boards once to the tune of $250. They say I have to replace again. Do I? Oven door continually locks and unlocks rendering oven useless. How can I disconnect self cleaning part so I can bake? Can't afford to keep replacing circuit boards. Thank you

Hello red rose and Welcome to the Do It Yourself Web Site and my Gas Appliances topic.
Not sure what is meant be the "Oven door continually locks and unlocks rendering oven useless." Nor sure that condition causes oven baking to not take place.
Most likely not both the same problem or related conditions?
Does this condition happen only when the cleaning cycle is used?
Does not using the cleaning cycle allow normal oven usage?
Kindly explain.
I am not sure an attempt to defeat the self cleaning cycle will be productive. You could disconnect the electrical wires to the door lock which would prevent the door from automatically locking.

oven will be cooking or ( shut off) and all of a sudden oven door lock will start locking and unlocking. To keep it from doing it I have to leave door open. Oven will not come on either way.My lock light keeps blinking and says lock all the time

Hello: red rose
Based on the problem symptom, there may not be any other way to repair the oven except to replace the main circuit board. The main board controls all the operations and functions.
Most likely the main board is defective. If the is a seperate control that begins the cleaning cycle, that button or switch may be acvtivating the cleaning cycle too. It should be removed and possibly tested or replaced.
Defeating the oven door locking device may not be the solution if doing so does not allow the oven to function normally. I assume leaving the door open you mean even when not in use?
If the door locks when not inuse, the board is really defective and replacement is the only solution. Try these online web sites for part replacements which may be available and the help guides.
