What is the difference between a Underlay and an Inlay or are they one in the same?

Underlay is like it sounds, it lays under the finished floor.
Inlay is a second product laid into the the first product to create a design.

An inlay would be a pattern in the tile made from other tile.
I noticed on one of your other threads you mentioned cracking tile. What is the size, span and spacing of your joists?
