I need to replace a Honeywell zone valve that has no inline shut off valve above it. Will all the water drain out of this zone if I dismantle the valve? If so, how do I put the water back in after I replace the valve?

If it is a newer V8043 you can replace the power head without draning the system.

It is not a newer one. The number on it is 9702. I need to cut the line and replace it. Can you tell me how to bleed the system?

Power off on the boiler. Shut the water in valve off there at the auto fill valve. open the drain co** on the bottom of the boiler. open vents on the base board. Keep what water you can in the boiler just drain below where you have to work.;) ED
