Hi, I have a gas dryer in my basement and would like to know if about 10ft (horizontal) of 4" dryer venting to the outside is too long of a run.
Thanks
Joe

Hello Joe. Welcome to my Gas Appliances topic and our Do-It-Yourself Web Site.
10 feet is well within the acceptable length. 30 feet is maximum for flexible straight length. Reucde it by 10 feet for every elbow. 43 feet for metal tubing. Same reduction rate.
Horizontal length does not cause as much of a restriction as compared to vertical length. Dryers do not have powerful fan blowers. Thus vertical lengths must be drastically less.
If you need further assistance, use the reply button to add any additional information or ask additional questions. Doing so will automatically move your question to the top of the forums list of questions.
