The following are specs, standard to industry for making desks, kitchen cabinets and bars

Kitchen-

Uppers 12" deep+ the door and either 30" or 42" high
Base-24" x 34-1/2" high

Upper cabinets sit 18" above the countertop.

A minimum of 24" Inside Dimension Depth for most Built-in ovens. If you put columns on either side make sure you add a filler so the wood isn't so close to the opening of the oven.

6" high drawer front for the top. 4" drawer

You will want the top of the drawer strecher to sit 5-3/4" from the top of the cabinet. "European Cabinetry" Thus will give you enough room for your 6" front and a 4" drawer. If using full extension ball bearing slides like Liberty, accuride, etc you need to set the slide on top of the strecher and mount the other end of the slide 1/4" up from the bottom of the drawer.

Toe Kick-4" high 3" deep.

When making a sink cabinet, if you have a 33" sink, make a 36" cabinet so the plumber is able to screw the clips on for the stainless steel sink.

Countertop depth is 25-1/2"

Microwave above stove is to sit flush with the bottom of the upper cabinets at 18"

Desks-

Height is 29"-31" Standard is 30"

Pencil drawer fronts shall be no more than 3-1/2" high. Same with a keyboard tray.

File drawers cabinets shall be a minimum of 17" wide Overall. From the outside of the file bar to the outside of the file bar for legal shall be 12-1/4" 12 high drawer overall.

Leave a minimum of 30" wide where you're sitting.

At the point of where you're sitting, make the countertop no less than 28" deep. This gives you enough room to either put your lap top or moniter infront of you and gives you space to write also.

if you make your desk in an "L" make a 2" minimum filler each way so the handles will surpass each other and the drawers wont hit each other.

Bars-

Inside countertop height is 36"

Bar top height where people is is at 42" You need to leave at least 10" minimum of overhang for leg room where people are sitting.

You will need either a 15" or 24" opening for a refridge, dishwasher, wine cooler or ice maker. 24" Deep. Same rule applies for the countertop depth 25-1/2"

4" high toe kick 3" deep.
