Hi, my husband and I are building our own home. We are planning to have a lot of ceramic tile in the house. Can you tell me the proper underlay we will need to add to our subfloor.
Existing subfloor is 5/8 plywood that has been nailed and glued not screwed.
The joists are 2" x 10" on 16 inch centers. The longest span is 13 feet.

1/2 durock, screwed with thinset underneath, joints taped and then a skim coat of thinset over the tape.
The screws need to be every 2" on the seams and every 4 to 6" in the field.Good to go:cool:
