I'm in the process of remolding my bathroom and I'm installing a new ceramic tile floor. I'm ripping the old floor down to the joist. What type of sub floor do i need? All I removed was 1/2 plywood.... Thanks

you need a min. of 1 1/8 of subfloor to accept ceramic tile on joists of 2x10 on 16" centers, that would include the c.b.u.(durock,hardi backer, permabase). You go back with 5/8 ply and then the 1/2 backer, installed to specifications, thin set under neath, screwed or nailed 2" on the seams and 4 to 6" in the field then taped with nylon mesh tape
