I own an older home (around 80 years) in Minneapolis. I want to install a shower in the bathroom. The tub area has been tiled to a height of around 3 feet above the tub. The old tile is in good shape. I'd like to add tile above that, rather than remove the old tile and start anew.

My problem is that the old tile measures exactly 5-3/4" by 7-3/4". I've contacted a number of tile shops here, and the closest size I can find is 5-15/16" by 7-15/16". And if I use that size, every line will be crooked.

Do you know where I can find 5-3/4" by 7-3/4" ceramic wall tile?

The area in question is fairly small--around 10 square feet. I'd like to find a flat-white color.

Any ideas?

Thanks!!

Frank

You more than likely will not be able to match that tile,i would maybe get a tile and make a pattern above that of something different that will go with the tile already there:cool:

THanks. I was afraid of that. :(

I guess I'll start thinking of designs that incorporate smaller tiles above the big ones . . .in such a way, I hope, that it doesn't look like I ran out of big tiles.
