Can I "doulbe-stick" glue down any carpet I want to? Is one kind of carpet better than another for this type of installation? Does a certain kind of carpet need padding? What is a good kind of carpet to use with padding and this method?
thanks!
thanks!

Plush carpet (residential) can be glued over pad that is glued if you want.
Commercial level loop can be glued with no pad.

For double stick in a basement, I would check/test the concrete for Moisture Vapor Emissions! The glue may never dry if the MVE are too high.
It is best to use a carpet with a backing pick higher then a 5 pick backing for double glue installations.
Double glue installations still require special seaming requirements, unlike a direct glue installation. Special seam tape or hand sewing may be needed for the seams, depending on the carpet.
