Has anyone used the under cabinet hot water heating units? How well do they work? How much do they cost and where can I get one?

Hi, yes, I have some experience with these units. They are available at most home improvement centers, Sears, Wards, hardware stores. The prices vary with the seller but, the units I put in were In-Sink-Erator brand, about $160 each. They are rated at 2.5 gals and are in-line installation. They are listed at 1500W at 110/120 VAC. Other than working in very close quarters, under the counter, they are fairly simple to install. My biggest complaint is even with stainless steel tanks, rust will appear in the water after a certain amount of time.
My advice; if you can find a unit with a ceramic coated tank, buy it instead of the SS. Be sure the electrical circuit it's wired into will withstand the current draw. Install an inline water filter in the supply side before you install the heater to cut down on sediment fouling of the heating element. Buy a unit that is easy to replace the heating element in as it will eventually need replacing. If the unit does not get used often enough, it will rust sooner and fill with sediment faster than a well used unit. Read and follow ALL manufacturers' paper. Good luck.

Sorry, I didn't answer your question. Yes, they work quite well if properly installed. Temperature ranges are from about 110F up to 170F and the water is hot at the spout! Later.
