Does anyone know how to roll and staple carpet to meet tile instead of a 10' threathold. I know you have to some how staple it but how long and should I take the existing tack-strip out?

Thanks, Dave

Turning and tacking is old basic technology. It looks like doggy doo, too. But if you must... Cut the padding About ¾" back from the tile. Stretch the carpet. While the stretcher is in the locked down stretching position, cut the carpet ¾" longer then the tile. Roll that edge under and tack. Tack it good! Let the handle up on the stretcher. Wal-la.

Now with todays methods, and using a hidden metal strip called "Z-bar" in junction with tackstrip, you get the turn and tack effect, without all the unsightly tacks/staples.

Now, if you transitioning to ceramic tile, or stone, treat the tile just as a wall, Nailing tackstrip, while leaving a gully for the carpet to tuck right against the raised tile. Then use latex(Carpet Seam Sealer) in the gully before you tuck the carpet into.
