I am going to plant my first vegetable garden. The area gets 5 to 6 hours of direct sunlight. And I live in zone 5. What kind of vegetables could grow in this little amout of sunshine?
Thanks, sdavis7142

Six hours of full sun is about the break point for full sun for plants. As to what plants do best in your locale, check with your local county extension service. For the most part, success is as much a product of temperature ranges and growing season. Some plants don't do well in some areas because the season simply is not long enough for it to complete the cycle to fruiting or maturation.

Mainstream plants such as: beans, cole crops, and root plants likely have rerpresentative versions that will do well in zone 5. Your extension service agent will be able to give the best information.

Hope this helps.
