I am going to replace a in wall basement heater that has been removed and covered for over 10 years.Wires look ok red/blk/wht. I am using the space for my home office. The Nutone heater dealer man asked if it's single/double poled how do I find this out. Base board heaters are going to cost me more than my budget will allow. Any help will be appreicated.

hello pmplay,
what the newtone guy is asking you is is this heater 120 (singel pole)or 240 (double pole)volts.DONT TAKE THE FOLLOWING AS ACTUAL FACT since there r 3 wires i presume it is a 240/120 that requires 2 hots and a nutural feed from a 2 pole breaker.
the best way to determin if it indead is 240/120 is to look for the name plat rateing on this heater this will tell u the voltage requirements of the heater. the nameplate will be located some where on the heater.
im also going to transfer this to the heating and cooling section of diy and mabe some 1 there can give you a better answer then i have. this post will also remain active in electrical, so look in both forems for your answers.
